Hon Murray McCully
The Honourable Murray Stuart McCully was raised in Dargaville, attending Arapohue Primary School and Dargaville High School. Murray served as a Member of Parliament for 30 years, retiring in 2017 after serving as New Zealand’s Foreign Minister for eight and a half years. He served a total of sixteen and a half years as a Minister of the Crown, including the Housing, Sport, Tourism, Customs, Rugby World Cup and America’s Cup portfolios.
Murray McCully is chairman of the McCully Consulting Group, a director of Far North Holdings and the Northland Adventure Experience. He is active in pro bono work in a number of Pacific countries. He was appointed a member of the Global Commission on the Geopolitics of Energy Transformation by the International Renewable Energy Agency and currently serves as a member of the Indo Pacific Commission, appointed by the UK think tank, the Policy Exchange.
